Bob received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in 1972 and immediately entered the insurance industry. Bob received his Certified Insurance Counselor Designation in 1986. He has always worked on the agency side from a risk management and marketing perspective.
He has served on advisory counsels for numerous insurance companies.

Ed started in the business in 1974, received his insurance license in 1976 and became owner of his own agency in 1977. In 1996, he joined Capital Insurance Group. He specializes in providing commercial coverages for business owners in retail, manufacturing, or mercantile enterprises. He has served on agency advisory councils for The Hartford, Royal Insurance Group and North Pointe Insurance Company.

Tom graduated from Michigan State University in 1983 and joined Capital Insurance Group in 1988. Tom is a Certified Insurance Counselor specializing in commercial insurance. Tom is an active member of the Detroit Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and dedicated to keeping up with the latest “best practices” in Risk Management.

Donn Johnson received his BBA in Economics and Insurance from Eastern Kentucky University in 1986. He worked from 1986 – 1996 as an insurance underwriter, bond underwriter and bond manager for Hartford Insurance Group, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and Great American Insurance Company respectively. Donn joined Capital Insurance Group in 1996 and became a partner in 2000. He specializes in handling bonds and insurance for contractors.

Bob graduated from Birmingham High School in 1959 and from Michigan State University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts and a teaching certificate. He taught in public schools until 1969 when he went to work with the Aetna Life & Casualty as an Assistant Supervisor. He was later promoted to Supervisor where he was in charge of the Detroit Area tax-sheltered annuity department. Bob joined the Capital Insurance group during its inception and has been here ever since.

Matthew is a graduate of Davenport University with a BBA in Marketing and Computer Science. He has over 29 years’ experience as a commercial insurance risk manager. He is the president of Exemplar Research Group, LLC. which co-developed the Predictive Behavior Profile™ with doctors from the University of Tennessee. This psychological profile is used by Fortune 500 Companies & small family owned businesses alike to identify and avoid hiring high risk employees.
He co-founded ORBIS Holding Group in 2004. ORBIS is a PEO in St Clair, MI with 6,300 employees and over 100 employers under contract. Providing payroll, HR, training and compliance to small business in Michigan.
Matthew is a Certified Risk Manager at Capital Insurance Group located in Bloomfield Hills, MI. He continues to help business owners identify and reduce the risks that drive up their insurance premiums.

Monica brings with her 12 years of diverse human resources experience as well as 5 years of employee benefit experience in the agency field. Her experience includes benefits, compensation, employee relations, recruiting, workers’ compensation and more. During her prior employment, Monica developed company policies, reviewed and developed handbooks, participated in a safety training team for ISO certification, and participated in an HRIS implementation team for new HR/Payroll software system. Monica received her Bachelors of Science in Human Resources Management from Oakland University and is currently working on her Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certificate
